AFL reissues - inner sleeves

Postby Slaam » Fri Jul 07, 2023 11:36 pm

Hi,
I couldn't find a topic on inner sleeves.
Does anyone know if the Girl Happy AFl has a plain inner sleeve ?
I can't find any info on that.
And does anyone know if there is a book about the american releases and inner sleeves?

This link is very helpful. Thank you!
Whenever I purchased Elvis USA LP's, I replaced the inner sleeve with a special protective inner sleevesold by a local warehouse.
So when I sorted out which pressings I have, I had no idea which inner sleeve should be with what LP.
On Discogs it is stated "can be with inner sleeve ..... or inner sleeve ......".
Anyway, I am not going to offer my Elvis LP's for sale. It is a lot of work and they do not fetch much, not even the Quadro Discs.

Elvis LP's were re-issued in the 1970's with an AFL1 prefix.
Sometimes the sleeve was pressed with this AFL1 prefix, sometimes an older LPM or LSP sleeve got an AFL1 sticker.
There are also LP's re-released with an AQL1 prefix.

First I thought it must be a typo:

Hi,
A comment on an old post but I'm getting into the details of collecting of Tan labels,AFL-1 and AQL pressings.
First as good an answer I can give: my copy of Girl Happy has an white innersleeve.I also have other copies of AFL-1 pressings and they come in white innersleeves also.Last week I optained a Clambake AFL-1 and that has the same innersleeve the LSP rereleases have.

I am also trying to find a resource about the AFL pressings and about what are rarities. The elvisrecords.com site is great but it does not say how common or rare a pressing is.

Does anyone have an idea where I can find information?
Website or book?
