Of course, young starlet Barbara Lang finally never got to appear in "Jailhouse Rock", despite having been pictured with Elvis for promotional purposes. This is one of several photos we have of Elvis and Barbara :

What a tragedy, she was so young and a bright future ahead of her.

For what it's worth, here is an excerpt regarding Elvis and Judy.

From Robert E. Relyea's book "Not So Quiet On The Set" Robert was the assistant director of "Jailhouse Rock."

According to other sources, Judy's husband, actor Gregory Lafayette, was the one at the wheel.

They got married less than four months earlier, in March 1957. He was five years younger than Tyler.

So, her husband was 15 years old?

Judy was 24, so her husband was 19.

Judy was 24, so her husband was 19.

Sorry, but I must correct myself.

Gregory Lafayette was born on January 23, 1935, so he was 22 when he died, not 19 as implied above. Judy was 24 all right. He was Judy's second husband - from 1950 to 1956, she had been married to musician Colin Romoff.

A note about the accident's date - it took place on Wednesday, July 3, 1957. Judy died instantly. Gregory died the next day. Here's an unsourced vintage clipping where we can check the correct dates :

Mister Moon, imdb.com listed Lafayette is born on January 23, 1938.

Yes, that's where I got his date of birth at first, and why I said he was five years younger that Judy.

Then I found the "find a grave" page for him, where it's given as 1935, which seemed more reliable and likely.

But, strangely enough, the same "find a grave" page has a photo of the tombstone, where the date, again, is given as 1938. So I guess the imdb information is correct.

This includes an interesting bit of information, in connection with the Patti Page posts from the other thread :

Miss Tyler married Lafayette on March 17 (1957) at Miami Beach, Fla.

(...)

At their wedding, singer Patti Page was the maid of honor and Irving Hudd, a Brooklyn Dodgers xxxxx, was the best man.

Bellinda Myrick-Barnett

Actually, Karen Milne, yes, Elvis did see this movie though not at a premiere. He & my Daddy Bill Myrick saw it together at the ECTOR THEATER in my home town Odessa in West Texas where Daddy had booked Elvis for his first of many shows on Tuesday, January 04, 1955. Later when Elvis & the boys were driving on a cross country trip, his Cadillac broke down outside of Odessa & singer Gordon Terry happened to be driving down Hwy 80 & picked them up & gave them a ride to Odessa. Elvis called Daddy who called his mechanic who worked on the car. Elvis saw that this movie was showing in town & asked Daddy if he had seen it which he hadn't so they went to a matinee while the mechanic worked on the car. There were stories written about how in the movie two teenage girls were sitting behind them & they got annoyed because Elvis & Daddy kept talking as Elvis told Daddy things about the movie& laughing a few times. The girls finally leaned forward & asked them to BE QUIER. They left a few minutes before the movie was over but Daddy had to run back & tell the girls, "By the way, that WAS ELVIS PRESLEY that you just told to BE QUIET! LOL! The girls got more than their fifteen minutes of Fame as a local radio D.J. interviewed them about it.

Reading up on the death of Judy Tyler, I see that most versions claim her husband was driving.

They had a pet cat with them, which survived.

or

They had a pet cat & dog with them, both of whom perished...
