July 08, 1954

Dewey Philips played the acetate which Sam brought him earlier and he got lots of requests to play the song over and over again. However, Elvis didn't hear that, because he was at the movies, too nervous to stay in the house. When his parents received a call from Dewey, they went to the cinema and sent Elvis to the studio where he had a conversation with Dewey, not knowing he was already on the air.


July 08, 1957

Elvis went on his first date with Anita Wood, but all the boys went along.


July 08, 1968

Elvis reported to National General for preproduction of his new film, Charro.


July 08, 1972

Elvis flew to Los Angeles then on to Palm Springs for a few days.


July 08, 1975

Elvis flew to Oklahoma City to begin his 3rd tour of the year. He performed at the Myriad Convention Center Arena, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
