Stranger in the Crowd - 29 July 1970 Rehearsal - Complete & Re-edited with RCA audio by LEON - Ultimate Elvis Channel-

"The only known live performance of "Stranger in the Crowd" by Elvis was during the Dinner show of 13 August 1970, a show in which Elvis appeared to sing whatever songs had been requested for filming by MGM that he had not yet performed in the previous five shows.

Included on side 2 of the original That's The Way It Is album in 1970, the studio master was recorded in Nashville, just a couple of months earlier on 5 June 1970, the second day of "The Nashville Marathon".

The Culver City rehearsal on 29 July 1970, in which Elvis and the band were filmed rehearsing "Stranger in the Crowd", was just over a fortnight before Elvis performed the song for the one and only time.

Just a segment of this rehearsal footage was used in the original 1970 "That's The Way It Is" movie, but this video contains the entire energetic rendition, which took place at toward the end of the final day of rehearsal filming by MGM at Culver City."
