In The Ghetto - Split Screen - That's The Way It Is and The Lost Performances

Postby Leon410 » Wed May 26, 2021 1:00 pm

When originally seen in The Lost Performances in 1992, this 13 August 1970 dinner show rendition of "In The Ghetto" was originally the second part of a medley with "Don't Cry Daddy". However, on inclusion in the 2001 re-edited version of "That's The Way Is" the "Don't Cry Daddy" portion of the medley was omitted leaving just "In The Ghetto" and giving the impression that this was a stand alone performance.

Befitting the mantra behind the release of the new movie, the song was included was almost all new camera angles than was seen in The Lost Performances. In addition, whilst The Lost Performances had been released in standard 4:3 format, the new version of That’s The Way It Is would be released in 16:9 widescreen format.
This video shows the two releases of the song side by side in split screen in order to show the differences and has also been re-edited with RCA’s multi-track audio to give the best possible listening experience.

As with all of these videos, to get the most out of the re-edited audio, I highly recommend you use ear /headphones and turn the volume up as much as you dare!
