Just read somewhere:
In the middle of the sixties Pyramid records in UK announced in advertisements in music magazines the release of a single:
Uncle Penn b/w I forgot to remember to forget.

My comment:
It's vague without mentioning the name of the magazine - year of release - Uncle PenN is misspelled. It's Uncle Pen.
In this way the rumours about Uncle Pen started.

I believe that's another one from Music World. circa 1982?
It's interesting that the author makes a comparison to doug kershaw
and ia talking about his phrasing of a specific line in the song.
There seems to be no doubt that he has heard a tape, either Sun or Hayride.

I had a quick search yesterday. There's an article in magazine 6. There are odd mentions of Elvis here and there throughout as well in the first magazine. I haven't been through the others.

Back to a previous post: The announcement was published in 1967 in “New Musical Express” in UK.
On 23 june 1967 the new Pyramid label would release the song on A-side of a new single. On the B-side “Tribute to a king” – a medley with instrumental versions of Elvis’ songs by Anthony Hedley Orchestra. Catalog number Pyramid 1596.
Later on it was reported the single couldn’t be released “due to technical reasons” .
According to information by an author of Elvis’ books the version by Elvis is faster comparing the original version by Bill Monroe.

I have never seen a sheet like this concerning Sun sessions.
