Nothing new at the horizon; as stated the audio is the same as added to Making of Blue Hawaii – book.
I wished the FTD team has added some extra audio now from demo's / rehearsels etc.

So, will this be the ultimate word on those sessions, or are the CDs verbatim copies of the flawed ones used for the "Making Of" set, which missed a couple of takes, and dialogue here and there ?

I see that the word "complete" is used on the above blurb :

Released as a 4-CD SET, It features the complete soundtrack sessions newly-mixed from the original 3-track session tapes.

If I was a betting man, I'd bet the Cds are exactly the same, bit by bit, as the ones included with the big book.

What takes and dialogue were not included on the FTD, "The Making Of Blue Hawaii"?

It is somewhat sad and frustrating that fans are going over the same questions again.
The first takes of CHFIL are not from the master tape because Sony/FTD don’t have it.
That means the PR stating that the complete soundtrack sessions are newly mixed from the original 3-track session tapes is wrong again too.
The audio on the four CDS of this release will be exactly as the CDS on the book release, edited to fit.
Nolan is here, with the truth!

I think there's a short false start of Slicin' Sand, and also Steppin’ Out Of Line movie version including the instrumental break. It is on there with the break edited out.

There's a lot of studio chat missing which can be found elsewhere. It's best to have a look at Keith Flynn's site which will tell you all you want to know.

That's right. I was re-reading the "Making Of Blue Hawaii" thread from earlier in the year, and it's explained there.

Regarding the earlier takes of "CHFIL", I would like to trust the statement in the above (official ?) blurb.

Toward the end of that video clip, Jamie said something to the effect of "if this is a 5-disc set we should have the complete sessions." Something like that.

It's not looking good. It's a 4-disc set.

Can the complete session fit on 4 discs? Or only the sessions with all the edits fit on 4 discs?

How many discs was the big book version?
