Am I missing something here? On what planet did Randy Starr "write" Yellow Rose Of Texas?

Yellow rose of Texas is adapted from an old song as recorded in the thirties by many (famous) artists.
With new lyrics the song was written (on earth) for scene 50 in the script.

You may dislike the song but these are the facts.
By the way the song is a kind of national hymn in the state of Texas.

(part 1 – 217 pages / part 2 – 181 pages)

The song The chautauqua is written by Randy Starr for the movie “The chautauqua”. The demo is sung by Kenny Karen but not used because the title of the movie was changed into “The trouble with girls”.

Elvis never added his vocal to the instrumental track as recorded on 23 october 1968.

Thanks for posting that.....just those short samples gives some insight into what film they were intended for.

Interesting too that one song uses the same line, "stocks and bonds only bore me, and interest holds no interest for me", that was later
used in the song, "Who needs Money".
