Widening things out a tad, there are some interesting bits here about the Presley's Tupelo addresses that I never knew about:

Tupelo Mississippi

1. 306 Old Satillo Road, Elvis' birthplace, is now 306 Elvis Presley Drive.
The two room wood frame house that Vernon built for $ 180 was designated a state historical site
by the Mississippi Department of Archives and History on January 8, 1978.

2. Reese Street, where the Presleys stayed with Vester and Clettes Presley and their daughter Patsy, 1940-41

3. Kelly Street, a rented, small apartment, 1942

4. Vernon paid $ 200 down on the house on Berry Street on August 8, 1945.
He was forced to sell it on July 18, 1946.
"Doll" Smith lived here with the Presleys and then Minnie Mae Presley moved in.

5. Commerce Street, a rental, in 1946

6. 510 1/2 Maple Street, South Tupelo where the Presleys lived with Glady's cousin Frank Richards and his wife, Leona.

7. Mulbery Alley

8.1010 North Green Street, in the Shakerag section of Tupelo.

Doll Smith never lived with Vernon and Gladys.

Not in 1946 or ever. She died in 1935.

Well spotted !

How did they get that wrong ?

Doll Smith [nee Mansell] (1876-1935), was Glady's mother and therefore Elvis' maternal grandmother.

Minnie "Dodger" was probably who they were referring to after Jesse D Presley left her for another woman after they had already moved to Memphis before Vernon Gladys and Elvis did - more about that in another area of the site very soon lol

Did the Presley family ever live next door to the birthplace house ?

How to keep a very long story short.
Testimony of Connie J. Simmons:
That house was Jesse Dee Presley's house and it was moved to Baker St. in East Tupelo in 1962-63 time frame.
I know because we lived in the house after it was moved to Baker St. My dad and his brothers moved it.
My dad wrote an article about it all and it was published in the Tupelo Daily Journal sometime back in the 1980's.
