Elvis Photo Library - Please visit and treat yourselves

Hi all. If you'd like a real treat, please visit the Elvis Photo Library section where there is some sterling work going on. Graeme has taken on a mammoth task which will take him 2 to 3 lifetimes to complete. Private Presley and Mister Moon are also contributing in a major way.

You'll see photos you've rarely seen or possibly never seen before. You'll see photos you've seen before, but in better quality than before. You'll be able to read day by day accounts of events in Elvis' life.

This work is in its early stages but stay with it, it will be amazing.

Graeme is definitely doing a Herculean task. There are literally thousands and thousand of Elvis pics and the pre-fame period is the easiest part since there are only a few photos around. If anybody has some rare photos not posted yet in the 30s and 40s era, please share them with us.

Play it down guys, play it down. Don't tell me it's almost an impossible task - I'll start believing ya!

That December 1st 1955 thread - boy, you could almost make a flick book movie out of how many we got.

The period of time I've chosen to start with, just opening up the birth to pre-RCA period, was done for a number of reasons, one it's the right order in that that period came first, second it's an era that gets over-looked or almost glossed over because of it's pre-fame content, thirdly it's easier for everyone to slowly get to grips with a lesser quantity of photos than at any other time rather than have an en masse hell for leather onslaught and finally I personally have a fascination for it in that it's got a lot of undiscovered history as far as being an Elvis fan goes - it guides me towards looking at pages in books and reading things I either have never read or if I had it was once and a long time ago.
It's also made me search this very site where the topic of a day in Elvis' life has been discussed or touched upon before.
But there's hundreds of photos just from this era alone.

It's also the first time I'm aware that there is a website of historical content on Elvis that can be built and contributed to by any member on here as opposed to a static website that gets done and updated by whoever whenever if ever. Not saying all Elvis websites are like that, take sites like keithflynn.com or elvisconcerts.com of which I've used both for verification of information in books or from other sources because I know within their specialist fields they pride themselves on their up-to-dateness.
Here's to what I hope will one day be the photo plus version that others can look at with the same respect.
