Thanks for that !

Chuck Willis had a sad & poignant ending.

His untimely death on April 10, 1958 at the age of 32 was, coincidentally, just after the release of his last single, "What Am I Living For", backed by "Hang Up My Rock & Roll Shoes".

I worked in a record shop at the time & informed all interested customers about the strange circumstances surrounding his demise [& perhaps a few who couldn't care less]...

Willis was a heavy drinker and died from peritonitis.

Was he very well-known in the UK in 1958 ?

Well, I knew of him, but working in a record shop gave me an advantage...

That's very cool. From what I see, the London label had released a few of his Atlantic singles in the UK. I wondered if they were popular at all in this side of the planet :
