The original version was recorded on 2 june 1952 by Steve Gibson & Damita Jo (RCA 20-4835).

Jessie Mae Robinson would also write "Party", originally recorded by Elvis in 1957, and later by The Collins Kids (1957) and Wanda Jackson (1958).
