The Deano single came out in 1950, this movie is where Elvis heard it. Deano's movie version is a lot closer to what Elvis did at Sun a year later. I remember reading in Ernst book that they couldnt remember all the words so Marion wrote one or two verses for Elvis to sing even though she never got credit for it.

I just gave you info you could use about this song because you had no idea and you make a stupid comment instead what is your problem. Why not say something like thanks thats cool I didnt know that. People told me this was the best forum for Elvis fans but maybe they were wrong. Heres some more info for you, many people use Deano as a nickname for him.

Actually, this is quite interesting !
I've always imagined that when he was at Sun, he often thought of a song that he sort of knew & just recorded it on the spot,
using the bits of the lyric that he could remember !
But this shows another possible scenario.
He probably remembered hearing Dean Martin's version from the film & suggested they record it.
Maybe Sam felt that the few lyrics just repeated over & over & it needed something extra.
Marion Keisker was then drafted in to write a couple of extra verses [shown in my previous post].
So a lot of time & effort was put into the production of Elvis' version !
Certainly not an off-the-cuff impromptu affair !

Using the spelling Deano is simply wrong because that's not how it's spelt on his original birth certificate.
Example: if your birth certificate name is Sean and it's spelt like that on the Certificate, but someone writes a letter or article spelling your name as Shaun you say to he/her my name is spelt "Sean" even though it's pronounced the same.
