I had the honour of seeing Charles Brown in concert in 1997, and he did sing "Merry Christmas Baby", as well as "Drifting Blues", his other classic from the late 40s.

Those songs have been covered to death by everybody and his brother, but it was cool to hear them from the man who first recorded them half a century earlier.

Probably one of the best songs Elvis did in the 70s.

It was a great intimate concert, with just Brown, who was about 75 at the time, on piano and vocal, accompanied by a stand-up bass and an electric guitar.

Aside from those two songs, I remember he also sang one of Amos Milburn's classics - "Good Good Whiskey", I believe. Milburn had shared Aladdin as a label with Brown, but I don't think Brown ever recorded that song originally.
