Yes, I knew and know, and he even said it himself when I asked him to sign it while with him back in Memphis in August of 1984.
Nevertheless he did work with Elvis, Scotty & Bill (as I said to him) so he signed it.

Don't pay me no mind. It's a very cool item. I was just pointing out the obvious, although it was originally believed that Fontana played drums with Elvis at 706 Union.

Back in 1984 that was still a thought, but during our conversation he told me himself that he never played with Elvis on Union Ave.
