I've came across this Elvis 1956 album cassette tape. It was made in Canada by RCA limited. The matrix number is APK 1-0383. I tried discogs but to no avail. Only one other copy comes up but it is different from the one I have. Any help identifying this would be much appreciated. Thanks.

What else do you need to know ?

Interesting that the sides are reversed.

Good luck with this rarety.
Last year I decided to check which pressings I have of the LP's by checking the matrix numbers. Had several that are not listed on discogs or Presleyana books. Or only one of the sides is correct while the other side has a not listed matrix number.
When RCA renumbered from LSP to AYSL you can find an LSP pressing in an AYSL sleeve but also an AYSL printing in an LSP sleeve with AYSL sticker glued over the LSP.
Sleeves are printed at a paper printing factory, while the records are printed at a record printing factory. Somewhere someone puts the record in the sleeve.
Another problem is the inner sleeves. I replaced the inner sleeves wkith special acid free sleeves that would not damage the record inside.
So releases can be found with inner sleeve X or inner sleeve Y.

Since this is your first post here: Welcome to the forum!

Elvis on cassette tape is in itself a very underrepresented subject. By the way, that's exactly how my fascination for Elvis really started in the first place: when I listened to some Elvis' cassette tapes on a Walkman in the mid-80s. ;)

There's an interesting new blog-website on this subject called "Elvis Presley Tapes" run by Joe Spera, maybe you might contact him and other contributors to his blog, too. Joseph A. Tunzi published a book about tapes produced in the USA titled "The Comprehensive USA Artwork Guide" - but I have no idea if it also offers a look at the tapes produced in Canada as a side note.

Ah, the cassette days.
Here is a golden collection from the 1970’s

Our friend elviscass has disappeared.

It's a mystery how somebody joins the forum, writes a vague post the next day, and then vanishes into the air three days later after, supposedly, having read the answers, without a damn word of thanks.

What a waste of time for everybody.

It’s the way of the world these days, but there have always been givers and takers.

Those are beautiful tapes. Very classy !

I used to own this as a double LP, Spanish issue, black vinyl. It's one of the very few Elvis items I have parted with over the years, and I have regretted doing so.

Looking very close at that sleeve, I realized all of the images had been taken from the "Legendary Performer" booklets.

I’ll bet it was some job manually creating that.
Much more detail available on the LP versions.

Special Pink Pressing, Presley / black vinyl and Special Price / Italian import black vinyl.

I know that there were RCA record and tape catalogs for the USA, but were any printed for the UK ?
I'm trying to find out what was released in each batch and what date they were released, I've looked everywhere online but have still only got guess work.
