I have to say more.

I really enjoy our divergence, here - thank you John for always being fair and equal, and thanks Colin for chatting!

LOL

Difference in opinion & agreeing to disagree at times in a civilized manner does make this forum quite exceptional ! :) ;)

Yes, this is a happy place !

And mostly achieved without suspensions or bans !

A gentle warning nudge when posters get 'out-of-line' is all that's needed !

I'll drink to that !

I've always been an "in the moment person" and observed life in front of me as it is, rather than looking through a camera, and not taken many piccies, only for special people, lol

We are each of us angels with only one wing,

Quote of the Day - 19th August:

I don't want to be embarrassed when
I go to see something on the screen.
I don't want to listen to foul language,
watch a lot of violence or see something immoral.
I prefer stories with sensitivity and family values,
films that strive to lift you up to a higher place in life.

"Debra Paget's 'costume' in that sizzling number dancing with the snake in the 1959 double THE TIGER OF ESCHNAPUR and THE INDIAN TOMB,"

A case of double standards perhaps ?

Debra's form of belly dance, I guess. Odd to me (especially in those days with how women were raised, including my generation), phallic symbol in the video isn't lost, either, lol.

Belly Dance's origin was to do with fertility, femininity and marriage between a man and a woman, "goddess of love" and of course, these modern days, is good core body exercise and fun to learn.

Back in the 50's? "Doesn't cease to amaze me baby." LOL

Thanks for the explanation & the video, Mountain Mist !

That dance was quite naughty, wasn't it ?

NB - Something went wrong with my original post so I've fixed it & removed the 'wrong' one which you had 'quoted' in yours.

You are welcome. :D

For that time, yes and also, for that time, I am surprised at how Debra was not too light on her feet.

Salma Hayek's dance is much better n "From Dust Till Dawn"; in real life, the Arabic women dance beautifully and sensually without, seemingly, effort.

Good, good, re crossing "t's'" lol.

Quote of the Day - 20th August:

From the night, his solitude,
the poet finds day and starts
a diary that is lethal to the inert.
The dark landscape yields a dialogue.
