Had "Tennessee"/"Sure To Fall" been released as a single it would have been Sun 235 which was the next one right after "Blue Suede Shoes"/"Honey Don't" Sun 234. Sun 236 was "No More, No More"/"They Call Our Love A Sin" by Jimmy Haggett. That's why when you look at a Sun discography Sun 235 is always blank and stated as "not issued".
I love playing "Tennessee" on my guitar - the two solos are cool.
It's also cool that "Tennessee" and "Sure To Fall" feature Jay Perkins, Carl's older brother and acoustic guitar player in the band, sharing the lead vocals. Another instance would be "Your True Love", where brothers Jay and Clayton did background vocals.
No complete alternate takes of "Tennessee" have ever surfaced, but a 30 second fragment was made available in 2012 by Bear Family. It's virtually identical to the master, but... here we go :
