yes, jbgude. Great news, with christmas around the corner, not just about Ken but also Robin (rjm) , both are heading for better health next year.

Indeed 2021 is shaping up as good year for all of us as more vaccines are becoming available, and maybe there'll be other treatments, where we do not have to rely on a jab (keeping in mind some folks are against vaccines) as the world learns more about and how to manage the virus.

Can't wait for 2021 !

I do hope so, Walter. I avoided joining in the Robin rjm thread, because I am not able to help. Not that I do not have some money to spare -I do, but new banking/ credit card regulations, where i now live, have made sending money/ buying from many sites outside very difficult or problematic.

Being a diabetic myself for over 30 years, and many other complications, taking similar insulin, that Robin does, I find it frustrating that I cannot help. especially as I have quite a few vials/cartridges, I have stocked at home. Sadly, the rules and laws, not to mention the cost/ logistics of sending them to the USA makes that impossible, at least for ordinary citizens.

It worth adding this, in context, whether latebloomer is a member here or not..

Words fail to express my awe at the miracle modern medicine and your team of excellent doctors and nurses have wrought for you and your family and, by extension, for all of us. You've faced a terrifying diagnosis with courage, determination, and sensible, sustained action, and inspired every one of us with your steady resolution to do what could be done. Thank you, again, for allowing us to make this astounding journey with you.

Those last two photos of you, home again, healthy and happy, are the best Christmas present I've had in years. Merry Christmas to you and those you love. Thanks for the joy!

Just did read on Feec that this member is now terminal ill.
Don't know him. Just by reading his posts.
It started out promising but it seems it wont look that way anymore.
Sorry to read that.
Although even the doctors said they give him at least 1 year I think about the time the doctors gave my dad 4 months to live.
And he lived (to anyone's amazement and our joy, after all he was our dad and my mum's husband and a fine human being) another five years.
What I am trying to say: the doctors don't know all. The same goes for their predictions.
My doctor said excactky that to me when I told her of the devastating diagnose my father was getting (I was deeply depressed about it), and she was right in the end. Meaning: don't take the dark words from doctors as gospel.

He died eventually, sadly.
But he did beat the odds big time. Outliving the initial prognosis many many times over (5 years with good living quality instead the initial 4 month prognosis given by the doctors).

Ken, if you are reading that: keep that in mind.

I have just had a message from Walt about this news. So very sad for Ken...he is a very strong person. I really hope he gets through this.I am so very shocked. I have followed his progress on his journey through it all.
