I was wondering which came first, The Addams Family or the similar The Munsters ?

Both had TV series starting in 1964, but The Addams Family had roots going back to 1938 !

That's the extraordinary thing, both tv series debut the same time. Both had two year lifespan and nearly exited the same.

The Munsters had 70 episodes and The Addams lasted 64 shows.
