Mistakes in showbizz are made everywhere and through all times. Perhaps at the time those people thought they did the right thing.
In hindsight everybody can be a genius.
The Beatles rejected by Decca, "Louie Louie" rights sold for $100,00 because the writer needed money quick, Elvis not recording in stereo and filming in colour in 1954, et cetera.
Fawlty Towers was rejected too!
