Didn't know where to put this so it's here.

The i Weekend UK newspaper today, in their Five-Clue Cryptic Crossword the number two down clue is:

"Iphone X possibly a sort of revival" in 7 letters.

Had me stumped, but members here might have a better chance !

The answer is:

► Show Spoiler

Clever, eh ?

Clever, eh ?

I saw where that was going. Not too many words with a PH and an X. Sussed it without the spoiler.

Been reading about these photo 'enhancers' so thought I'd give one a go:

Colin With Sue in 1960 - Great Yarmouth.JPG

They do add a bit of life to old snaps.

This one is from a photo-booth snap in Great Yarmouth, 1962, [happier times]...

I am so surprised, Colin, that you did not re-marry, your happy disposition shines through.

I do look pretty pleased with life, don't I ?

We were only courting back then.

Her expression is more like: "What am I letting myself get into ?"

A tale of our times.

I got the paperwork through for the annual renewal of my house & contents insurance.

Under 'Number of Occupants' it stated '2'.

When I rang them & pointed out I'd been living alone since 1996, the lady there replied:

"Oh, when we set up your details, we don't ask how many occupants there are, the system automatically enters 'two' " !

She altered it to '1' but she didn't know if it would make a difference but it turned out I instantly saved £26 !

I wonder how many customers they overcharge who don't query things ?

Name of the company please? Will they give you a refund for the last 25 years?

It used to be 'Insure4Retirement' but the latest paperwork is from 'Gallagher' - she explained they'd been 'rebranded' !

It seems this new 'occupancy' problem has come with the new company.

Tricky lot. I'm sure you can report them for some kind of underhand practice. How many other people are being caught?

When she gets in from her clubbing, my carer likes to relax & have a quick puff on a ciggy:

My television has been a cathode ray tube [CRT] one for the last 28 years.

On a recent visit, a BT engineer reckoned it should be in a museum !

It has now ceased working & will shortly be replaced by an LG Oled 55-incher.

Oh well, all good things must come to an end...
