Anyone here got this cd in their collection?

This is an excellent compilation with 24 pre-RCA recordings done when he started at Jamie label, released by the Bear Family label and was mastered by the late Boppin' Bob Jones:

One of the greats of rock and rolls early days . I've met Duane on many occasions , talked to him on the phone many other times . He's a great guy , a true survivor , and a true innovator . Elvis had Duane's Rebel Rouser on his Juke box .

Duane Eddy is 82 today !

The Elvis connection is that Duane played guitar on the 2015 Elvis album If I Can Dream on the song Bridge Over Troubled Water.

Happy birthday, Duane !!!

Here's an oddity, from the spring of 1958, featuring Duane on electric guitar - one of the first tribute records to Elvis related to his Army induction. The b-side has no Elvis connection, but I'm posting it too anyway :

I have always dug the top side of his debut single for Jamie.

Recorded late 1957, released early 1958, it's a masterpiece of simplicity, but a total classic. Plas Johnson's great sax solo is the icing on the cake - by the way, Plas is also still around, at age 91.

This song is often misspelled as "Movin' n' Groovin'", instead of "Moovin' n' Groovin'" - that's how it was spelled on the records, and it was not a mistake, but a cool wordplay.

The guitar intro is a bridge between Chuck Berry and The Beach Boys :

Duane Eddy also got his own tribute song, in 1959 :
