Some religions claim that god was originally called 'Yahweh'.

But there was an even earlier name which was: "EL" who was the father of Yahweh !

How about that ?

A sign of the times:

I got this e-mail reminder from my dentists, where I'm an NHS patient:

When I attempted to book an appointment online I got this:

Dentist - NHS-Private.JPG

As I'm registered with them as an NHS patient, don't they have a legal obligation to provide NHS checkups & treatment ?

Maybe NHS patients have to book 'in person' or by phone !

It beats me !

Boy, 16, arrested after felling of famous Sycamore Gap tree at Hadrian’s Wall

Just feeling like Dogmatix from the Asterix comics right now, howling about a falling tree... :( What on earth did this 16 year old boy think? "Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves" is one of my all time favorite movies and especially the scene around that tree was burnt into my young mind as I watched it at the movie theater back in 1991 ("Is it true, boy? Did you kill a deer?" - "Hundreds of them!"). It seems so surreal because in that scene, Robin stops a soldier from doing exactly what this stupid boy managed to do: chopping down the tree...

Wondered what eventually happened to that bag by Philip Treacy [previously discussed on here] which had an Elvis design by Andy Warhol.

It was bought from a charity shop for £20 in 2012:

So I asked the AI site 'Bard' & it came up with this:

There's so much to moan about these days, I thought I'd report something good for once !

I ordered a keyboard & mouse from Temu.

Item delivered & worked well for a couple of weeks.

Then the scrolling wheel on the mouse somehow disconnected & the 'scrolling' action stopped working but the mouse still worked otherwise.

The keyboard was still OK, & I could still 'scroll' by using the slider at the side of the screen.

Went to report the problem online to Temu & all I could find was a 'returns' screen.

There was a box to enter details of the problem & I explained that I didn't actually want to return anything, but needed a fully working mouse.

The immediate reply was "We've refunded you but there's no need to return the item - dispose of it or recycle it"

And the repayment went straight away to my PayPal account !

Never imagined things would be sorted so quickly, & in my favour too !

Hats off to Temu !

When I go for shopping, the cheese is in plastic, the toilet paper is in plastic, the butter is in a plastic cup, and so on.
However, do not ask for a plastic bag at the check out!

They also banned plastic straws.
Yu can now buy paper straws.........

No thanks !

In the song "I'll Be Home For Christmas", is the line "You can count on me" or "You can plan on me" ?

A lot of people think it's "count" !

And others think it's "plan" !

The answer is here:
