Dion talks about the last tour during this interesting documentary:

Thanks for posting, Dion is great!

I once attended the Buddy Holly musical in London (a long time ago), and a replica of the flyer seen behind Dion on the wall was given to all fans. That was pretty cool! Still have it somewhere.

I also saw that show in London and the touring version a few years later.

Were there any notable differences between the London and touring versions?
From what I understand is that the (main) cast usually changes a lot for a musical that has a (very) long run.
I remember really, really enjoying myself that evening!

When we left the theatre, in a total rocking good mood, I bought some goodies, including the soundtrack-CD. But the guy doing Buddy on the CD was not the same as that evening, in fact he was horrible. The ultimate low was his intro for Rave On, he was so not able to do the famous Holly hiccup.

Bless you Colin. Does the music of Buddy Holly feature greatly in your record collection ?

In my collection I have several Buddy Holly LP's incuding the 6-LP-box with book issued ages ago by MCA.
In december I found this CD for € 1,00 while roaming through boxes of CD's at a flea-market.
It is performed by The Bloomsbury Set.

I had some of the early singles & a couple of vinyl albums.

KEV kindly sent me a CD[R] set which seems to be the 'complete' works !

A little anecdote:

The 4th of February is the birthday of my big sister Janet.

In 1959, I handed her present to her [It Doesn't Matter Any More - Buddy Holly 45] on the morning of her birthday.

On the bus travelling to college, fellow student Ronnie Fairchild called out to me:

"Did you hear the news ? Buddy Holly has died in an air crash !"

Didn't study much that day...

A couple of photos taken at Buddy's very last concert, just a few hours before the planecrash :

Good on you Colin. I take it that you were, back then at least, as big a Buddy fan as you were Elvis ?

Remember it well Colin.

When that set came out or build up to it,it was going to be the one set to have, but i found the lp box set from years back to be better over all.

Like i wrote the other day, don't have Buddy Holly in your collection, don't have a heartbeat.
Keep the FAITH MIKE :!: :!:

Hey anyone here have this interesting 1956 CD by Rollercoaster ? I don't and was wondering if it's any good as I can't tell much of a difference with the sound (as in sound samples on All Music site) particularly on the 1956 home recordings (CD 2), that has appeared many times on prior bootlegs.
