Trivia Quiz - No.926

Trivia Quiz 926.JPG

I don't have an exact date or a location for this one !

Have to make it simple - who are the two seen here with our boy ?

Miss Donna Dickson and Miss Nancy Laity!

1957 Loving You Meeting Donna Dickson and Nancy Laity (1).jpg

Location: The "special dinning room of the Paramount comissary" (5555 Melrose Ave, Hollywood, CA).

Unfortunately, both websites do not clearly date the pictures. So I'm not 100% sure or maybe I'm just too stupid to make sense of the data in the headings at both websites: But if the third part of the SF Chronicle article appeared on March 1, 1957, then the meeting must have taken place the day before, on February 28, 1957, right!? According to the SFC article from the day before, they must have also visited the Paramount studio (briefly) the day before the meeting.

In another picture from this meeting there's a third (but older) female to be seen:

1957 Loving You Meeting Donna Dickson and Nancy Laity (2).jpg

At first I thought it might be one of the girls' mothers, but I think the two moms can be seen in another picture at the Paramount gate, posing with their daughters:

1957 Loving You Meeting Donna Dickson and Nancy Laity (3).jpg

And another (low quality) newspaper photo on TheElvisFiles.com, showing the four of them in their seats on the plane, seems to confirm that.

So I guess the third woman could be Lindsay Durand, the Paramount publicist for Loving You, who was also there at the meeting. Here's the only other picture I could found of her, it's from 1945!

Do you think that this could be her, 12 years later?

Amazing research and post, HC. Thank you.

No doubt, that's Lindsay Durand, twelve years later.

What about moving, or copying, this information to the main section ?

I had recently re-sorted these pictures in my offline database and was also a little frustrated with the dating, so I immediately recognized the Trivia picture. But it was only thanks to your question that I did more detailed research for the location today and found another interest in identifying another lucky one who got to meet Elvis in person. ;)

I have no objection to that, and I also think it's a good idea! Maybe this will also increase the chance that someone will contribute a scan of the newspaper issues? While it's nice to be able to read the transcripts on the websites listed above, I'd like to see the original newspaper articles.

I've added a thread in the 'Everything Elvis' section with a link back to this thread.

Thank you, Colin. There's a typo in there - it was 1957... ;)
