The event was sponsored by the Tennessee Restaurant Association, and by buying a $1 button, the wearer was entitled to free coffee at all participating restaurants in the state on Good Friday, April 19, 1957. Elvis is pictured with Monte Robinson, proprietor of “Monte's Drive-In,” a legendary Memphis restaurant.

This confirms the information about this day in the book "Elvis: Day by Day" by Guralnick/Joergensen. On April 19, the picture appeared in an issue of the Waverly News Democrat newspaper (see here: Coffee Day April 1957). The image was also associated with March 27th because Elvis wore the same (or at least a similar) shirt and jacket combination that day (see: Rarely seen photos).
